Alberta’s Methane Reduction Strategy sets an aggressive target of reducing Alberta’s methane emissions by 45% by 2020. The scale and challenge of this task and the importance of engaging industry and communities in the oilfield sector across Alberta is increasingly significant.

In partnership with the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and the Government of Alberta (GoA), a leadership team comprised of Gen7 Environmental, the Methane Emission Leadership Alliance, Actions Matter Inc. and Callendar Energy Services, is delivering a series of community-based, oilfield workshops sessions in which industry and government leaders collaborate to consider the business opportunities this represents.

This first session will build a better understanding of the context in which Alberta has established the Methane Reduction Strategy, and how industry is well positioned to be able to contribute to achieving reductions and strengthen the resiliency of the oil and gas sector in the face of both a challenging price environment and societal requirements for lower carbon intensities of our products.
